WELCOME TO THE AUSIT NATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS
The prestigious AUSIT Excellence Awards were instituted in Victoria in 2004. After going national in 2007 in Sydney, they have now become a major and very significant biennial event that recognises AUSIT as the peak professional body in the Australian translation and interpreting industry.
The awards acknowledge the outstanding achievements of translators and interpreters throughout the country and bring together the leading figures and organisations in the industry.
The third National Excellence Awards presentation took place at University House in Canberra in November 2011. The next edition will be in 2013, when the awards will again showcase our industry and highlight the issues critical to promoting and developing translation and interpreting in Australia.
The AUSIT Awards project recognises initiatives and activities by individuals, teams and organisations. It encourages best practice, professionalism, dedication to quality and innovation in our industry. The awards are presented at a Gala Dinner held in conjunction with the National Annual General Meeting and the Jill Blewett Memorial Lecture during a weekend of activities that usually also includes D-Day. D-Day is a day of demonstrations and displays of innovative technologies and new products and methods, with presentations by leading translation and interpreting professionals, trainers and others. It provides a unique opportunity for all those connected with our industry to reach thousands of language professionals in Australia and gain exposure to language service providers, users, training institutions, government and corporate stakeholders.
Detailed information about the next AUSIT Awards will appear here early in 2013.
